China’s medical devices have been involved in the most cutting-edge competition
The progress in scientific and technological innovation of China’s medical devices is increasingly impossible to ignore. Nanogenerators, surgical robots, brain-computer interfaces… Most of the people involved in discussing these topics are from China’s research institutes and China’s medical device companies in China. Unconsciously, the China’s medical device industry has already competed in the most cutting-edge fields of biomedicine.
Medical device innovation has entered an explosive period
As of July 2023, my country has approved a total of 130 innovative drugs and 217 innovative medical devices. In the first half of this year alone, 24 innovative drugs and 28 innovative medical devices were approved for marketing. In 2014, there was only one such approval.
In 2022, my country’s main operating income of medical devices has reached 1.3 trillion yuan, and the average annual compound growth rate of medical devices in the past five years has been 10.54%. It has become the second largest market for medical devices in the world, and industrial agglomeration and international competitiveness have continued to improve.
In the future, the medical device industry is about to enter a stage of rapid development, and competition for differentiation will become increasingly fierce. Relying on their technological advantages, technology giants will have an increasingly strong presence in medical devices, and better innovative products will emerge as the times require.
